Transfer my SIM to a New Spacetalk Watch

How to move your SIM and service to a new Spacetalk watch, and what to do if your SIM is lost or damaged.

Move your SIM and service to a new Spacetalk watch

If you have a new Spacetalk watch and want to keep using the SIM from your previous watch, remove the SIM from the old watch and put it in the new one. We recommend keeping the new watch switched off while you do this, then turning it on once the SIM is inside — this gives it the best chance to recognise an active SIM.

Because the watch is new, it has its own IMEI (device-specific), so you'll need to set the new watch up in your Space again and pair it.

  1. Check your SIM: confirm your current SIM and service are active. If they're active, you can reuse the SIM in your new watch.

  2. Unpair the old watch: before inserting the SIM into the new watch, unpair the old watch in the Spacetalk app for a smooth handover.

  3. Insert and pair: put the SIM into the new watch and pair it with the Spacetalk app — pairing links the service to the new watch. See Pair your Spacetalk Watch.

Lost or damaged SIM

If your SIM is lost or damaged, you'll need a replacement.

In Australia, UK & USA: if you're on a Spacetalk mobile service, chat to us to get a replacement SIM. Once you have it, see Replace SIM to move your existing service onto the new SIM.

  • Your watch's number and mobile balance stay the same, as long as they were active on the old device.

  • Make sure your plan is updated with the new SIM details in the app.

  • After the SIM replacement is completed and confirmed, power cycle or reset the watch.

Tips for a smooth transition

Check compatibility: make sure your SIM and plan support your Spacetalk watch model. If you're not using a Spacetalk SIM in applicable countries, an unlocking fee may apply. See Using a Different Mobile Provider.
