If your Spacetalk watch battery is draining faster than normal, one of the following is usually the cause.
The watch has not been paired
An unpaired watch does not enter standby mode and continuously searches for a connection, which drains the battery quickly. If you have charged the watch and turned it on but have not yet completed pairing, the battery will drain faster than normal.
To pair your watch, see How do I pair my Spacetalk watch with the app?.
The SIM is not connecting
If the SIM inside the watch is not communicating with the network, the watch continuously tries to reconnect, using up battery. Check the following:
Does the watch have good signal? Check that signal bars are visible on the watch screen.
Does your SIM plan have enough credit or data remaining?
The location update frequency is set too high
The watch updates its location every 15 minutes by default. Setting a shorter interval uses more battery. If you have reduced the interval below 15 minutes, this is likely contributing to faster battery drain.
To adjust the location update frequency:
Open the Spacetalk App and tap the profile picture of the person whose watch you want to update.
Swipe the actions menu upwards and tap Watch Settings.
Tap Location Updates.
Select a longer update interval.
Note: You can request an immediate location update at any time without affecting battery life. See How do I check a Space member's location in real time?.
