Congratulations! You’ve just paired your watch. Next you should set up the watch to customise the watch features and have it work the way you need it to.
Let’s get started! If you tap ‘Start setup’ after pairing, you will be walked through the 6 steps to configure your watch. You can always go back to change the settings in your Watch settings. We’ll take you through the set-up steps first.
Step 1: Watch SOS set up
First we set up the SOS Watch Contacts on the watch so that when the SOS alarm is triggered by the watch, the contacts on this list will receive a phone call. The calls will be sequenced by the order people are added to this list, starting at the top. People within the space who have opted into being an SOS contacted will receive a push notification.
Note: the watch will call contacts in sequence until it registers an answer. It will however log voicemail as an answer and discontinue the calling of contacts.
Find out more about SOS features here Using SOS features on the watch.
You can have up to 3 SOS contacts for your watch. The SOS alert will be sent to all of them.
Tap ‘Add new SOS contact’. The watch will call the contacts on this list in order until someone answers. Note, reaching someone's voicemail is understood as an “answer”, and will stop calling anyone further on the list
You can select from your list a watch contacts or create custom contact if the contact is not sharing a space with you in in the Spacetalk App already. You can include custom contacts like landline numbers of neighbours or relatives, police stations or any other contact number that is not set up in a Space. For custom contacts, enter the name and phone number to be added to your SOS contact.
You can remove contacts by swiping left on the Contact name in your SOS contact priority list.
Step 2: Set up School Mode
Set up School Mode so that the watch does not become a distraction when worn during school. The Spacetalk watch is silent in School Mode. If you want certain features to still function, like alarms, you can edit it in the school mode settings.
Find out more about School Mode or how to edit School Mode settings, see <Set up School Mode>
Select ‘Add schedule’ to add a new recurring schedule to be put into School Mode.
To edit an existing schedule, select the arrow on the right of the schedule item.
Step 3: Set up Alarms & Battery warnings
Next, we’ll set up Alarms on the watch. These are reminders for daily routines.
For more information see Alarms.
Step 4: Set up Rewards
Rewards is designed to encourage your child to complete certain tasks to earn rewards that you set via your Spacetalk app.
Set up the reward, determine the number of stars needed for that reward. Then create the tasks that can be done to earn the stars.
You can learn more about Rewards here.
Step 5: Set up Preset Messages
Preset messages are custom messages that your child can select to send via their watch. These come in handy if they want to send something quickly without taking the time to type out a full message. These messages can range from something the child finds themselves typing often, to letting you know they’re ready to be picked up.
You can learn how to set up Preset Messages here.
Step 6: Set up Watch Background and Time format
The face of your child’s Spacetalk watch can be customised via your Spacetalk app. You have the ability to change the format of the clock, as well as the wallpaper visible on the background of your child’s Adventurer 2.
Simply select the time format you and your child prefer and select ‘upload image’ to change the wallpaper from any picture saved to your phone gallery.
Once you’ve made your selections, press ‘Continue’ to save your changes.
You're done!
And you’re done!
