What is SOS feature on the Watch?
If the watch wearer ever finds themselves in an emergency situation, the watch has a built-in feature that allows them to quickly send an SOS alert to their SOS contacts. This can be a lifesaver in a time of need.
You can have up to 3 SOS contacts for the watch, the SOS alert will be sent to all of them, as well as call them in sequence. This ensures that someone will be notified and able to help you in case of an emergency. You can include custom contacts like landline numbers of neighbours or relatives, police stations or any other contact number that is not set up in a Space.
Please note, the watch will call the SOS contacts in sequence until someone answers. Voicemail is treated as 'phone answered’, and will stop the call sequence.
To add or edit SOS contacts, you will do that from the Spacetalk App. If you are a managed member, you will need to get your account admin to do this for you.
Setting SOS contacts on the watch
First, you’ll need to set up SOS contacts on your watch so it will know who to alert when you use the SOS function. You would have set this up when first configuring the watch, but you can also add or edit it later in the Watch settings.
Step 1: Go to Watch settings
You can access School Mode settings in your paired Watch settings.
Select ‘Profile’ on the bottom right menu
Select the Managed Member that has the watch
In the Managed Member’s profile, select the member watch.
In Watch settings, select ‘SOS’ at the bottom under Watch safety settings.
Step 2: Adding the SOS contacts for the watch
To add a new contact, tap on ‘Add new SOS contact’.
You can select from your list of watch contacts or Create custom contact if the contact does not have a Spacetalk App. For custom contacts, enter the name and phone number to be added to your SOS contact.
You can remove contacts by tapping the Contact name in your SOS contact priority list.
How to Send an SOS Alert on Your Watch
On the watch:
Swipe up from the bottom of the watch face.
Follow the prompts on the SOS screen to send an SOS alert to emergency contacts. Swipe the small emergency icon from the left of the screen to the right to activate.
On the App:
When a manager user presses the SOS button, it will display on your Spacetalk app with multiple options available.
Call: by pressing the call button, you’ll call the manager user who’s pressed the SOS button directly.
See their Location: by pressing this button, you’ll be able to view their current location on the map screen of your app.
Cancel the SOS: if this was pressed on accident and the manager user was unable to cancel the SOS in time, you can cancel it on their behalf.
