Admin, Members and Managed Users

The difference between the user types in Spaces on the Spacetalk App

Updated this week

There are different types of users in your Spacetalk app. These different types of users have different abilities and permissions.

User Types in a Space

Owners

If you create a Space in the app, you are the Owner of the Space. Owners have full permissions and control of the Space. Owners and Admins can set permission levels to the Space. This includes inviting members to the Space, creating a Place creating Routes. Owners can assign management of the Space to someone by making them an admin.

Admin

An Admin is someone designated by the Owner to have full permissions and control of the Space. Owners and Admins can set permission levels to the Space. Permissions for Admin and Owners are the same.

Members

Members are participants of a Space. They are usually invited to the Space by the Owner or Admin. Members cannot change the settings of a Space but they can edit their own permission levels and settings of what they share in the Space.

Managed Members

Owners can also add Managed Members to their Space. A specific type of Member is a Managed Member. Managed Members are members that have delegated controls, usually to a parent or carer. Managed members can be added to the Space with their app or watch. Add Managed Members to your Space to keep in contact and use all the features of the Space. When a watch is paired, you will be able to see their Space updates on the app.
