Why is the watch location accuracy reduced

How does the Spacetalk watch provide location information and why is it’s accuracy sometimes reduced

Updated over a month ago

The Spacetalk watch calculates location based on a number of parameters. It uses 3 methods to position the watch allowing it to be more dynamic in the way it obtains a location. These methods are: GPS positioning via satellite, Wi-Fi positioning and Cell Tower triangulation. Spacetalk will use the most accurate of these methods to obtain the watch's location as necessary.

When outdoors, the watch will use satellite positioning with an accuracy of <20 metres in clear weather conditions. Indoor accuracy can be slightly more inconsistent due to the watch using Wi-Fi for positioning rather than GPS, with the accuracy generally being within <75 metres.
