Prepare the Spacetalk watch for Repair

Recommended steps to take to prepare your watch for repair

Updated over 3 weeks ago

When a Spacetalk watch is sent off to our repairers, we would recommend performing a factory reset on the device.

For security measures, if your watch were to get lost in the mail, this would prevent any private information from being viewed if the watch was found.

Before performing the Factory Reset

After the repair, you can re-pair the watch and restore previous settings, however, please note that you will not be able to restore images, messages, or audio files.

If and your child have photos or videos you’d like to keep, we would recommend sending them from the watch via Chat – as this would allow them to be saved directly to you phone for safe keeping.

How to Factory Reset the Watch

Step 1: Find the Password

All of our watches require a 4 digit password to be reset, as this prevents the button from accidentally being pressed.

The password is the last 4 digits of the watch’s IMEI number and can be found on the side of the box the watch was purchased in (just under the barcode).

Alternatively, the IMEI number is also on the watch under the Information menu.

On the watch, swipe down from the top of the screen > select settings > select information > scroll down to find the IMEI and record the last 4 digits

Step 2: Factory Reset

Once you have the password, you’re ready to reset the watch.

On the watch, swipe down from the top of the screen > select settings > scroll down and select factory reset > enter the 4 digit password > confirm your decision

Once you’ve followed the above process, the watch will shut itself down to complete the factory reset.

When your watch has been received back from our repairer, you’ll then need to re-pair it to your Spacetalk app to continue normal use.
