How Do I Prepare My Spacetalk Watch for Repair?
Preparing your Spacetalk watch for repair ensures the process is smooth and secure. This article provides all the necessary steps to reset your device, unpair it from the app, and lodge it for repair.
General Preparation Steps
When sending your Spacetalk device for repair, follow these steps to prepare your device:
Perform a Factory Reset: Ensure all personal data is removed from your device before sending it in.
Unpair the Device from the Spacetalk App: This will disconnect your watch from your account.
Handle SIM Card and Accessories: If applicable, remove the SIM card from the device and keep it safe. Accessories like chargers and straps will be returned after the repair.
Note: During assessment or repair, a factory reset will be performed, which means previous settings can be restored afterwards, but images, audio files, and messages will not be recovered.
Detailed Instructions
Factory Reset the Watch
Swipe down from the top of your watch screen.
Tap Settings.
Scroll down and select Factory Reset.
Enter the last four digits of the watch’s IMEI. You can find the IMEI in the Information menu on the watch or on the product box.
5. Confirm the selection to initiate the reset. If the process encounters any errors, restart the watch and attempt the reset again.
Unpair the Watch from the Spacetalk App
Open the Spacetalk app on your smartphone.
Go to the Map Screen.
Tap the + icon in the bottom-left corner.
Select the watch you want to unpair.
Tap More, scroll down, and select Remove Device.
Lodging a Repair Request
To lodge a repair request, submit the following information:
Full Name
Mailing Address
Contact Number
Device IMEI Number (found in the Information menu or on the product box)
Proof of Purchase (e.g., receipt or order confirmation)
SKU Code (found on the back of the watch)
After submission, you will receive instructions on how to proceed with the repair.
Additional Notes
If the screen is damaged and prevents a factory reset, remove the SIM card and keep it safe before sending in the device.
After repair, you can restore previous settings during re-pairing; however, images, messages, and audio files cannot be recovered.
Ensure all provided steps are followed to avoid delays in the repair process.
If unable to locate the IMEI number, check the watch’s information screen or its original packaging.
If errors occur during the reset process, restart the device and retry entering the IMEI digits.
Data loss after a reset is irreversible, so always perform a backup prior to initiating the reset.
