How do I set up the Spacetalk App?

How to download the Spacetalk App, create your account, and get ready to set up your family.

Set up your Spacetalk App account so you're ready to add your family. Download the app, sign in with a one-time code, create your profile and allow location access.

Who this is for: Anyone setting up the Spacetalk App for the first time on an iPhone or Android phone. Returning users can log in instead.

How to set up the Spacetalk App

Step 1: Download the app

Download the Spacetalk App from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, or search for "Spacetalk" in your app store.

Step 2: Create your account

  1. Open the Spacetalk App. Enter your email address or mobile number, then tap Continue. A one-time code will be sent to you by email or SMS depending on what you entered.

  2. Enter the one-time code to confirm your account.

Note: If you enter an incorrect code, you have 2 more attempts. After 3 failed attempts, you will be temporarily locked out.

  1. To keep your account secure, confirm your second contact detail: if you signed up with an email, enter your mobile number (or the reverse), then enter the one-time code we send you.

Note: Returning user? Open the app and tap Log In, then enter your details to receive a one-time code.

Step 3: Create your profile

Add a photo (optional) and your name, then tap Continue. This is what other family members will see.

Step 4: Get a quick look at Spacetalk

Tap Get Started on the welcome screen, then tap through the short introductory screens to continue.

Step 5: Allow location access

Spacetalk uses location to keep your family connected. You will be guided through the permissions one screen at a time — tap Allow on each to continue.

We recommend allowing Always (background) location access. This lets Spacetalk keep sharing your location with the people you invite, even when the app is not open — so your family can see each other on the map, and check-ins and arrival updates keep working reliably in the background.

Note: Location is only shared with the family members you invite. You control who sees what.

You're ready — set up your family

Your account is now set up. You will be taken to the Let's set up your family screen, where you can add your kids and the people you look after. See Set up your Family to continue.
