Set up your family by adding your kids and anyone else you look after, and inviting other adults. Do this once you've created your Spacetalk App account (see Set up your Spacetalk App).
Who this is for: Anyone who has just created a Spacetalk App account and wants to add their kids, the people they look after and other adults.
After you create your Spacetalk App account (see Set up your Spacetalk App), Spacetalk guides you through setting up your family step by step.
How do family members join?
When you add someone, you tell us whether they have a Spacetalk watch or will use their own phone. Their device type determines how they join:
Watch — you pair the watch to their profile. If they have a Spacetalk Mobile SIM, their phone number is added automatically when you activate it. With a different SIM, you enter their number manually.
Mobile — they receive an SMS invite to join your family on their own phone.
Spacetalk sets up the right kind of account in the background based on their age and device — you do not need to choose an account type.
How do I set up my family?
Setting up your family has 7 steps:
Get started.
Add your kids.
Add anyone else you look after.
Invite other adults.
Name your family space.
Choose what to share.
Complete your setup checklist.
Step 1: Get started
On the Let's set up your family screen, tap Get Started.
Step 2: Add your kids
On the Who is in your family? screen, tap Add a Kid and enter their details. Add as many kids as you need, then tap Continue.

Step 3: Add anyone else you look after
On the Is there anyone else you'd like to look after? screen, tap Add a Senior or Dependent to add an elderly parent or dependent adult, then tap Continue.

Step 4: Invite other adults
On the Invite the rest of your family screen, tap Invite Family Members to invite a partner, co-parent, carer, or someone else.

Step 5: Name your family space
Spacetalk sets up a shared space called Family. Tap Continue to keep the name, or tap the name to change it — for example, to "The Smiths".
Step 6: Choose what to share
Choose what you would like to share in your family space and who can see your location or message you, then tap Continue. You can change these settings at any time.
Step 7: Complete your setup checklist
Spacetalk shows a checklist based on the people you added. Tap an item — such as Pair Watch — to complete it, or tap I'll do it later.

What happens when I finish?
You will land on your Spaces screen, where the Settings area is highlighted so you know where to manage everything.
Note: If you close the app before finishing, you will see a "Welcome back — finish setting up your family" prompt next time you open the Spacetalk App so you can pick up where you left off.
