After you create your account (Set up your Spacetalk App), Spacetalk guides you through setting up your family in just a few minutes.
How your family members join
When you add someone, you’ll tell us whether they have a Spacetalk Watch or will use their own mobile. This decides how they join:
Watch — you’ll pair the watch to their profile. If they have a Spacetalk SIM, their phone number is added automatically when you activate it; with a different SIM, you’ll enter their number manually.
Mobile — they’ll receive an invite by SMS to join your family on their own phone.
Spacetalk sets up the right kind of account in the background based on their age and device — you don’t need to choose an account type. For the full steps, see Add a kid to your family and Add a senior or dependent.
Step 1: Get started
On the Let’s set up your family screen, tap Get Started.
Step 2: Add your kids
On the Who is in your family? screen, tap Add a Kid and enter their details. For the full steps, see “Add a kid to your family”.
Add as many kids as you need, then tap Continue.
Step 3: Add anyone else you look after
On the Is there anyone else you’d like to look after? screen, tap Add a Senior or Dependent to add an elderly parent or dependent adult, then tap Continue. See “Add a senior or dependent” for details.
Step 4: Invite other adults
On the Invite the rest of your family screen, tap Invite Family Members to invite a partner, co-parent, carer or someone else. See Invite Members to your Space.
Step 5: Your family space
Spacetalk sets up a shared space called Family. Tap Continue to keep the name, or tap the name to change it to something like “The Smiths”.
Step 6: Choose what to share
Choose what you’d like to share in your family space, who can see your location or message you, then tap Continue. You can change this at any time.
Step 7: Finish setup
Spacetalk shows a short checklist based on the people you added. Tap an item such as Pair Watch to complete it (see Pair your Spacetalk Watch), or tap I’ll do it later.
You’re all set
You’ll land on your Spaces screen, where the Settings area is briefly highlighted so you know where to manage everything.
ℹ️ If you close the app before finishing, you’ll see a “Welcome back — finish setting up your family” prompt next time you open it, so you can pick up where you left off.
