Australia: Identity Check Issues

If you're having issues with the Identify Checks for your mobile SIM activation, this article with offer some help.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • If you have failed an identity check, make sure you wait an hour before resubmitting for another attempt. Quick succession of multiple failed attempts can cause the system to automatically fail further attempts, even if the correct details are provided.

  • Make sure you use the correct numbers. You can use the below examples to see the difference between reference number, card number and licence number.

  • Make sure you enter all relevant punctuation if shown on the card. If your name has a hyphen on the ID, please include it.

  • Do not include spaces if the licence, card or passport numbers include spaces. Just include the string of numbers & letters.

  • If you have a single name, use full stop punctuation (.) in the Family Name field.

Entering your details

Depending on which form of ID you use, match the information requested to the section of the form you need to enter those details.

Medicare:

If using a Medicare card as your form of ID and you have a middle name, please just use the middle initial only in the middle box.

Drivers Licence

Make sure you refer to Licence or Card number correctly.
