Before handing your Spacetalk watch to a buyer, you need to complete three steps to remove your personal data and make sure the buyer can set the watch up without issues.
Step 1: Perform a factory reset
A factory reset removes all personal data from the watch.
Swipe down from the top of the watch screen.
Tap Settings.
Scroll down and tap Factory Reset.
Enter the last 4 digits of your watch's IMEI number as the password.
Note: You can find your IMEI number by tapping Settings > Information on the watch, or on the label on the side of your watch box.
Step 2: Unpair the watch from the Spacetalk App
Unpairing disconnects the watch from your account so the buyer can pair it to theirs. Simply deleting the app will not unpair the watch.
Open the Spacetalk App and tap Profile in the bottom right corner.
Under Watch, select the watch you want to unpair.
Scroll down and tap Unpair Watch.
Important: If you skip this step, the buyer will not be able to pair the watch to their account.
Step 3: Remove your SIM card
Remove your Spacetalk Mobile SIM from the watch before handing it over, so you are not charged for the buyer's mobile service.
If you do not plan to reuse the SIM in another device, cancel your Spacetalk Mobile plan.
Important: Spacetalk Mobile plans are on auto-renewal. If you do not cancel your plan before the next renewal date, you will be automatically charged and this charge is non-refundable.
What if the buyer is having trouble setting up the watch?
If the buyer cannot pair the watch, it is likely the watch was not fully reset or unpaired. Ask the buyer to contact our Support team via live chat, or complete the steps above if you have not already done so.
