If you are planning to sell your Spacetalk watch, you will need to make sure you follow these steps to ensure your details are removed and the watch can be set up painlessly by the buyer.
Seller instructions:
Step 1: Perform a Factory Reset
For your own security purposes, you should reset your watch before you hand your device to the buyer. Doing a Factory Rest will ensure all personal data is removed from your device. To perform a factory reset, follow these steps:
simply swipe down from the top of the screen,
press 'Settings',
scroll down and press 'Factory Reset', and
enter the last 4 digits of your watch's IMEI number (this can be found under 'Settings'>'Information' or on the box the watch was purchased in).
Step 2: Unpair the Device from the Spacetalk App
This will disconnect your watch from your account. Don't just remove the app as this will not disconnect the watch to the account, even if you no longer have the app. To unpair your watch, follow these steps:
Log in to your app and press Profile in the bottom right corner
Under Watch, select the one you wish to unpair
Scroll down and press Unpair Watch
If this step is not done, the buyer will face difficulties linking the watch to their account.
Step 3: Remove SIM Card
Ensure that you are not paying for the buyers Mobile plan service by removing the SIM card from the device.
You should also cancel your mobile plan if you do not plan to use the SIM.
IMPORTANT: If you have a Spacetalk Mobile plan, please note that Spacetalk Mobile plans are on auto-renewal so if you do not cancel your plan, you will be automatically recharged for the plan and this is not refundable.
Buyer Instructions: What to Do If the Seller Hasn't Followed Proper Steps
If the watch is still linked to a previous account and hasn't been reset properly, you may encounter difficulties setting it up. In such cases, contact the seller and ask them to:
Unpair the watch from their Spacetalk app account using the steps outlined in the 'Seller instructions'.
Perform a factory reset on the watch as described in Step 1 of the 'Seller instructions'. Without these steps being completed, the watch cannot be paired with a new account.
