When activating a Spacetalk Mobile service, you can choose between a physical SIM card and an eSIM.
Physical SIM: required for Spacetalk watches, which aren't eSIM compatible and need a physical SIM inserted to work. Physical SIMs can also be used in mobile phones.
eSIM: for mobile phones — before activating, make sure your phone model is eSIM compatible. When you choose eSIM, we email you a QR code to install it (see the eSIM article below).
Activated the wrong type by accident? You can switch between physical SIM and eSIM using the SIM Replacement steps — see Australia: Replace SIM. This keeps your existing Spacetalk Mobile number and plan without interruption.
