When you set up a new Spacetalk Mobile plan, the Number step lets you either pick a new number or keep your existing number by transferring (porting) it across.
If you keep your existing number, you'll be asked for some details about the number so we can port it across. This is a security step to prevent unauthorised transfer of your mobile number.
For a seamless transfer, don't cancel your current service until the porting has completed successfully.

You'll be asked whether your current service is prepaid or postpaid, and for details that must match your current provider's records:
The name of your current service provider
The mobile number you're transferring
The date of birth of the account holder
If your current plan is postpaid: your account number with that provider (prepaid transfers don't need an account number)
Your account number and date of birth must match your current provider's records, otherwise, the port will fail — double-check you're using the correct details. For example, if a family member created the account, it could be their date of birth on your provider's records. You can usually find your account number on a recent bill or in your account details.
Verification: as part of the transfer we'll send a verification code by SMS to the number you're porting. Enter (or reply with) the code to confirm the transfer is authorised.

To transfer your mobile number, you will need:
Account holder's name from your current provider
Account number from your current provider
Number Transfer PIN (also called a porting PIN or account passcode)
You can usually find your account number and PIN on a recent bill or in your account details. Details of your current account must match your current provider's records, otherwise the port will fail.

Porting Authorisation Code (PAC)
You will need a Porting Authorisation Code to transfer your existing number. A PAC is an alphanumeric code required to transfer your mobile number to a new network in the UK. The PAC consists of 3 letters followed by 6 numbers (e.g. ABC123456).
To get a PAC, text ‘PAC' to 65075.
Note that the PAC is only valid for 30 days after it's issued, so if you're not ready to activate your new SIM, wait until closer to the time to get your PAC.
