When activating a Spacetalk Mobile service, you can choose between a physical SIM and an eSIM.
Physical SIM — required for Spacetalk watches, which are not eSIM compatible. Physical SIMs can also be used in mobile phones.
eSIM — for mobile phones only. Before activating, check that your phone model supports eSIM.
Important: Spacetalk watches are not eSIM compatible. Always use a physical SIM for a watch.
How to switch between physical SIM and eSIM
If you activated the wrong type by accident, or want to switch from one to the other, use the Replace SIM function in the Spacetalk App. This keeps your existing number and plan without interruption.
