How do I transfer or port my existing number to Spacetalk Mobile?

How to keep your existing phone number when setting up a new Spacetalk Mobile plan in Australia, USA, or UK.

When you set up a new Spacetalk Mobile plan, you can choose to keep your existing number by transferring (porting) it across during the number selection step of activation.

Important: Do not cancel your current service until the porting has completed successfully, or you may lose your number.

Australia

You will need to provide the following details, which must match your current provider's records exactly:

  • The name of your current service provider

  • The mobile number you are transferring

  • The date of birth of the account holder

  • Your account number with that provider (postpaid accounts only — prepaid transfers do not require an account number)

Note: If the details you enter do not match your current provider's records, the port will fail. If a family member set up the account, their date of birth may be on the records rather than yours. You can usually find your account number on a recent bill or in your online account details.

As part of the transfer, we will send a verification code by SMS to the number you are porting. Enter this code to confirm the transfer is authorised.

USA

You will need to provide the following details from your current provider:

  • Account holder's name

  • Account number

  • Number Transfer PIN (also called a porting PIN or account passcode)

Your account number and PIN can usually be found on a recent bill or in your account details. Details must match your current provider's records exactly, or the port will fail.

UK

You will need a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) to transfer your existing number. A PAC is an alphanumeric code required to transfer a mobile number to a new network in the UK, and takes the format of 3 letters followed by 6 numbers (for example, ABC123456).

To get your PAC, text PAC to 65075.

Note: A PAC is only valid for 30 days after it is issued. If you are not ready to activate your new SIM yet, wait until closer to the time before requesting your PAC.
