This article explains how the contacts system changed in the new Spacetalk App and how to set up SOS contacts, Chat contacts, and Watch contacts.
SOS Watch Contacts
SOS contacts are the people the watch calls when the SOS button is pressed. The watch calls them in order from the top of the list until someone answers.
Important: Voicemail is treated as an answered call — if a contact's voicemail picks up, the watch stops calling and will not continue to the next contact.
Space members who have opted in to SOS notifications will also receive a push notification when SOS is triggered.
How to set up SOS contacts
Open the Spacetalk App and tap Profile in the bottom right corner.
Under Managed Members, tap the member whose watch you want to configure.
Tap the watch under Member Watch.
Tap SOS under Watch Safety Settings.
Tap Add new SOS contact. You can choose from your existing watch contacts or tap Create custom contact to add a landline, neighbour, relative, or any other number not in your Space.
You can have up to 3 SOS contacts. To remove one, swipe left on their name in the list.

Chat contacts — inviting people to your Space
To give someone access to the watch's location and the ability to contact the watch, invite them to your Space.
Open the Spacetalk App and tap the blue + icon.
Tap Add Member.
Tap Invite Members at the top of the screen.
Share your invite code — read it out or tap Share Code to send it via message or WhatsApp.
To invite someone already in another Space, tap the + next to their name — a tick confirms the invite was sent.
To invite from your contacts, tap Invite from your contacts, allow access, and tap the + next to the person you want to invite.
Watch contacts — contact the watch only
To give someone the ability to call and SMS the watch without access to location or other Space features, add them to a dedicated secondary Space with sharing turned off.
Tap the blue + icon and select Create new Space.
Name the Space and add the watch wearer as a Managed Member.
In the Space settings, go to Member Management and turn off all data sharing options except Chat for each member — including yourself in this Space.
Return to the Space and use the invite steps above to add the people you want to give watch-contact access to. Once they join, they will appear as a contact on the watch.
Note: People added this way must download and sign up to the Spacetalk App to complete the process.
