Buddies

How to use the Buddies feature and what it looks like on your Spacetalk app

Updated over a month ago

Spacetalk watch users, both Loop and Adventurer can use the Buddies feature to request to add their own contacts to the watch. The request will be sent to the Spacetalk app where the watch is paired, and as the app user you’ll be able to confirm or deny this request.

How does a Buddy request work?

Initiating the request

A Buddy request is always initiated from Spacetalk watch:

  • Child 1 and Child 2 both have Spacetalk watches

  • Child 1 selects the Buddies option on their watch, and when their watch detects child 2, they select to add them as a buddy

Parent of Child 1 - Notification

  • The parent of child 1 received an in-app notification:

“[Child 1’s name] has requested to add [Child 2’s name] to a Space”

  • In the app, the parent can see a new Space labelled “[Child 1’s name] + [Child 2’s name] Space”

Parent of Child 2 – Notification and Action

  • The parent of child 2 will receive a prompt in their app:

“[Child 1’s name] has requested [Child 2’s name] to join their new Space”

  • The parent of child 2 can either approve or decline the request

  • If approved: parent of child 2’s app will now show a new Space labelled [Child 1’s name] + [Child 2’s name] Space

  • If declined: No new Space is created for Child 2 and Child 1’s Space will remain empty
