Set up and Use Places

Set up Places for the safe areas your people often go—like home, school, or a friend’s house. When someone arrives or leaves, you and your trusted contacts receive a gentle alert. Peace of mind for you, freedom for them.

Log in to your Spacetalk app, and once done, select the plus button in the bottom right corner.

Once the new menu has popped up on the screen, select Add Place

You can select from the list of suggested places or create your own. To create your own, press Add a Place

If you ever want to delete a Place, simply swipe the Place to the left and a small bin icon will appear to delete.

First you’ll need to select the location for your Place, this can be done via the map or you can type the address in manually. To use the map, simply drag it around until you find your desired location and press to place the map pin.

If you’d like to type it in manually, select the text box under Place address – here you can type in your desired address and search for specific locations

Finally, you can set the radius of your Place – this is handy if you’d like the place to cover the entirety of a specific location. For example, if you’re creating a Place for your child’s school, you could make the radius as large as the school campus.

You can give your Place a custom name and icon. To add a name, press into the text box for your keyboard to appear. Here you can type and add emojis.

To add an icon, press on the small house icon on the left and you can select from the menu that appears.

You can select which members of your Space you’d like to get notifications for when people arrive at or leave a Place. If you’d like everyone to get all notifications, simply press the switch at the top of the menu.

Alternatively, you can set both leave and arrive notifications independently for each member of the Space.

You can also set custom time-based notifications for your Place. To create, select Add notification. Here you’ll be able to select a specific time, day/s of the week and provide a custom title, before pressing done to save.

This can come in handy if you have a child who walks to school and needs to be there at a certain time.

Once you’ve finished creating your Place, press the Save Place button.

If changes are required, you can edit your Places at any time.
