Places are saved locations — like home, school, or a friend's house — that trigger alerts when a Space member arrives or leaves. You can create as many Places as you need and customise notifications for each one.
How to create a Place
Step 1: Tap the blue + button
Open the Spacetalk App and tap the blue + button in the bottom right corner.
Step 2: Select Add Place
From the menu that appears, tap Add Place.
Step 3: Choose or create a Place
You can select from a list of suggested Places, or tap Add a Place to create your own.
To delete an existing Place, swipe left on it in the list — a bin icon will appear.
Step 4: Set the location and radius
Set the location for your Place by dragging the map to your desired spot and tapping to place the pin, or by typing the address manually in the Place address text box.
Then set the radius — the larger the radius, the wider the area the Place covers. For example, for a school you could set the radius to cover the full campus.
Step 5: Name your Place
Give your Place a name in the text box. You can also tap the house icon on the left to select a custom icon from the menu.
Step 6: Set notification preferences
Choose which members you want to receive arrival and departure notifications for. Tap the toggle at the top to notify everyone, or set arrive and leave notifications independently for each member.
Step 7: Set time-specific notifications (optional)
Tap Add notification to create a time-based notification for this Place. Select a time, the days of the week, and a custom title, then tap Done to save.
Note: Time-specific notifications are useful for regular trips — for example, to be notified if your child has not arrived at school by a certain time.
Step 8: Save your Place
Tap Save Place. You can edit your Places at any time.
