How do I send a Chat message in the Spacetalk App?

This article will show you how to use the Chat feature on your Spacetalk App.

Chat lets you send messages to other Space members using your phone's mobile data or WiFi. You can message people individually or create group chats.

How to start or open a chat

  1. Open the Spacetalk App and tap Chat at the bottom of the screen.

  2. To open an existing chat, tap the conversation.

  3. To start a new chat, tap the speech bubble icon in the top right corner.

  4. Select one or more members from the list — you can only chat with people in your Space.

  5. Tap the arrow icon next to the selected names to create the chat.

How to send a message

Once the chat is open:

  • Text message — tap the text box at the bottom, type your message, and tap the blue arrow to send.

  • Photo — tap the camera icon to take a new photo, or the album icon to send one from your phone's gallery. Photos attach to the message automatically — tap the blue arrow to send.

  • Voice message — tap the microphone icon to record. Tap the stop icon when finished, then tap the blue arrow to send.

How to manage a chat

Tap the 3 dots in the top right corner of any chat to access settings. From here you can:

  • Change the chat name

  • Add more members — tap Chat Members, then tap the + icon to add someone

  • Make a member an admin of the chat

  • Block a member — tap the member's name, select Block User, tick the required box and tap Block User to confirm

  • Remove a member — tap the member's name, select Remove from Chat, read the conditions and tap Remove User to confirm

Note: If you do not have permission to block a user, contact the Space admin — they can complete the action on your behalf.

If you are still experiencing issues, contact our Support team via live chat.
