This article explains how to navigate your Spacetalk watch — including turning it on and off, using the watch icons, and accessing the settings and SOS menus.
Basic watch actions
Action | How to do it |
Turn on | Locate the button on the back of the watch. Press and hold until the watch vibrates and the screen switches on. |
Turn off | Press and hold the same button, then select Shut Down on the screen to confirm. |
Exit an app | Tap the X icon in the bottom left corner, or swipe down from the top of the screen to the bottom. |
Charge the watch | Line up the four gold prongs on the charging dock with the four gold dots on the back of the watch. Both are magnetised and should clip together when aligned. |
Navigating the watch screen
You interact with the watch by tapping the screen. Swipe in different directions to access different areas:
Swipe left — view the watch features and icons
Swipe down from the top — access the Settings, Volume, and Brightness menu
Swipe up from the bottom — view the SOS option, then swipe left to activate it
Watch icons
Swipe left on the watch face to access the icons below. Keep swiping left to see more.
Icon | What it does |
Call | Make outbound calls. Tap the icon to see your list of approved contacts, then tap a name to call. |
Message
| Send and reply to SMS messages. Tap the icon to see your conversations or tap the pencil icon to start a new message. |
Chat
| Send Chat messages via WiFi or mobile data. Tap the icon to see your conversations or tap the pencil icon to start a new message. |
Step Count
| View fitness data including current steps, step goal progress, and heart rate. |
Camera
| Take photos with the front-facing camera. Press the capture button — photos are automatically saved to the Album. |
Album
| View and delete photos taken on the watch. |
Flashlight
| Turn the screen bright white to see in the dark. Tap the screen to adjust brightness. |
Calculator
| Open the calculator for simple maths. |
Stopwatch
| Record timed activities. Press start and stop as needed. |
Timer
| Set a countdown. Select the number of minutes and tap play to start. The timer can be paused at any time. |
Alarms
| Set one-off or recurring alarms. Tap the + in the top right corner and follow the prompts. |
Calendar
| View the calendar. Tap the arrows at the top to move between dates. |
Location
| Send the watch's current location to the paired Spacetalk App. |
Weather
| View the local weather using data from the watch's SIM card. |
Video Call | Adventurer only — see Using Video Call on the Adventurer. |
Heart Rate, Rewards, Feelings, Sounds, Buddies | Adventurer only — see Use Adventurer specific features. The Rewards feature lets parents set goals and reward achievements. The Feelings feature lets the watch wearer log how they are feeling. |
Note: The step counter continues counting even when the app is closed. The heart rate monitor only records when the wearer opens the Step Count app on the watch.
Settings and quick menus
Swipe down from the top of the screen to access:
Option | What it does |
Sound | Adjust the watch volume using a slider. Press exit to save. |
Brightness | Adjust the screen brightness using a slider. Press exit to save. |
Settings | Access additional watch options including flight mode, date and time, language, and ringtones. |
WiFi | Connect the watch to a WiFi network. |
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access:
Option | What it does |
SOS | Swipe left as prompted to activate SOS. This sounds an alert and calls the watch's trusted emergency contacts. An option to dial emergency services also appears on screen. |
